Director, Program Management - TRM Job Summary This exciting leadership opportunity for a senior-level Financial Services Project Management professional encompasses all facets of project management, client management and team leadership. The most typical project roles for the Director, Program Management are Engagement Lead and Client Executive which usually consists of being accountable for delivery of large scale engagements to clients as well as managing the client relationship from a delivery and commercial standpoint. The Director, Program Management should bring experience and expertise in delivering Trading and Risk Management solutions or other Financial Services applications. This person will provide vision and leadership to teams involved in building and integrating applications/systems. The Director will demonstrate a broad understanding of the capital markets domain (various asset classes, front/middle/back office functions, etc.) and a flexible attitude in order to deliver best of breed solutions for Sapient’s clients using both custom built and commercial packages. A Director of Program Management must have excellent program management skills to lead teams in distributed environments involved in delivering complex business systems. Relationship building skills, as well as strong leadership and team management skills are key expectations too. He/she must have a deep understanding of various commercial parameters and their business impact on delivery. Key Responsibilities include: Manages large, complex projects/programs (50-100 people) to an acceptable level of risk by balancing scope, time, cost and quality Leads proposal efforts and can sell Sapient value proposition Leads diverse teams (i.e., multiple domains, across geographies, potential partners involved) to deliver integrated client solutions that achieve measurable business results for our clients Leads estimation efforts and reviewing and revising the estimates of others Responsible for risk assessment and management through the full project life-cycle Manages the financial profitability of the engagement - costs, collections, etc. Responsible for relationships with client's senior leadership team and communicates status and issues regularly Plans Sapient projects or work packages up front by leading the estimation efforts before work gets started and turning those into high and mid level project plans. Mobilizes and manages a team to execute against project plans Manages the growth of the project team Job Requirements: Broad domain knowledge in capital markets across asset classes and front/mid/back office functions 10+ yrs Project/Program Management experience with at least 5 years of experience in a consulting firm Successful delivery of projects with 50+ people in a globally distributed environment and over $2MM in revenue Experience in both Fixed Time/Fixed price projects, and Time & Material projects Strong estimation and risk management skills Ability to understand, communicate, and manage across the entire project lifecycle Broad knowledge of technology trends and relevance to clients’ business Experienced multiple full project lifecycles from business development to final delivery Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously (preferably in an integrated program); Experience using object oriented design and development methodologies; Agile, Scrum or Waterfall are preferred. Led teams with multiple discipline representation (especially technology, creative, and strategy); Frequent travel may be required. Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
