Project Manager in Not Specified, NY

Saturday, October 31, 2009
Update 10/28- This is a tough role, because it needs soft skills like diplomacy, presence, leadership ability (even at a more junior level) as well as experience working on major enterprise software efforts like enterprise portal integrations, large globalization projects, etc. They need to know how to work on a large, distributed team with lots of different stakeholders with very different styles of interaction. Also, the project we're doing is complex: people need to be willing and able to roll up their sleeves and learn something new, since we're taking a very new approach to Intranet technology. Most of the people who seem mostly ok have been ding'd by this last one: they don't seem like they'll be able to hit the ground running with a complex new technology. We need someone who will work well with the developers in Eagan as well as execs here in NY. He also had a wide variety of experience with enterprise-level technologies, as well as a clear interest/desire to keep abreast of new stuff coming down the pike. I had a lot of confidence in his ability to get going quickly and to build trust with many different kinds of stakeholders. Local NYC candidates only. .will review candidates 10/13 at 4PM .
