Hedge Fund - SQL Server DBA in New York, NY

We do NOT accept 3rd party applications.Our Hedge Fund client in NY is seeking a Senior SQL DBA.The Key Responsibilities are: - Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and administration of the firm wide database infrastructure. - Responsible for performing front line support for all SQL Servers in the enterprise - Backup and recovery management - Disaster recovery administration - Schema design, performance analysis and optimization - Provide architectural direction in collaboration with Development Team - Manage database security and ensure policies are reviewed on a regular basis - Automation of administration tasks - Deploy database changes into staging and production during release cycle - Reviews overall physical database structures for data integrity, quality, recoverability, maintenance and space requirementsRequired Skills: - 5+ years experience as a SQL Server DBA within a large database >100GB and high transactional high availability production environment - Experience in the setup and daily administration of Clustering, Replication, Log Shipping, Performance Tuning, etc. - Good at physical database administration skills - Effective written and verbal communication skills - Must be detailed-oriented, self-motivated, a team player, and have a strong track record in customer satisfaction and must demonstrate a sense of urgency - Strong analysis and design capabilities along with strong problem-solving skills - Demonstrated experience with successful system and project implementations - Experience maintaining, analysing, optimizing, and troubleshooting queries, stored procedures, indexes, triggers, etc. - Work independently and as a technical team member - Identify and sponsor new initiatives Preference for: - Financial database design and maintenance - Experience with SQL Server 2005 highly desired - Hedge Fund exposure/Trading firm experience- ETL (SSIS/DTS) experience - Knowledge of SQL Server in a SAN environment To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
