Our client is looking to hire a Software Test Manager on a full time basis. Specific Responsibilities: . Directs a skilled staff in application testing to write and execute manual test scripts to ensure the solution meets the business requirements and maintains client availability when released to production. . Maintains an industry best of class knowledge in System/Regressioin testing and Quality Management techniques in order to provide a high quality release in the least amount of time. . Identifies critical areas within the application for functional, performance, system, and UAT testing improvements to ensure effective use of resources. . Assists in ensuring the integrity and completeness of the test environment to allow meaningful results to be extracted from the test scripts. . Ensures manual test scripts are easily maintainable and are highly re-usable by other testers. Re-usable test scripts will benefit the test team in the regression test cycle phase of the project. . Recruits, selects, hires, evaluates, and ensures training of staff personnel to meet the needs of the testing and quality assurance functions. Coaches and develops staff for personal and corporate advancement through training programs, workshops and other educational resources. . Leads Go/No Go decision to release solution to production with IT and business unit partners. Creates and provides Quality metrics to allow informative decision. . Assists in defining and executing Quality Management (Policy, Procedures, Objectives, Assurance, Training, Control, Audit, & Planning) for IT to improve the quality of the solutions delivered to the business units. . Assists in developing an application and infrastructure test strategy for a business platform that is cost effective and reduces time to perform regression test cycles while maintaining or improving the quality to production. . Ensures test scripts meet Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements by providing necessary artifacts for 404 audits. . Assists in maintaining positive relationships with the business units for the purpose of providing the client with a cost competitive, high value solution. . Assist in developing the annual expense and capital budgets used to control departmental spending. Experience: Requirements: BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology. In addition to the degree requirements, a minimum of 5 years in manager/supervisory responsibilities (should have experience managing a minimum of 10-15 employees) or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Special Skills Needed: . Ability to influence peers, team player; adapt to change as well as be a change agent. . Knowledgeable with process improvement techniques: ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, CMMI . Familiarity with test tools: Quality Center, Test Director, Quick Test Professional, Silk Test, and Open View Service Center. . Technical knowledge on PC, Windows, UNIX, Web and Citrix environments. . Certifications: Certified Test Manager by IIST, Certified Manager of Quality by ASQ. .
