System Support work anywhere in Country in Buffalo, NY

This position is to assist the operational assurance team working with multiple projects at a time to ensure all operational requirements are met before systems and or servers are turned over into production, specifically monitoring requirements. Knowledge of Unix, windows, mainframe and general Microsoft office products necessary. Responsible for the operating system and associated subsystems. Provide system-level support of multi-user operating systems, hardware and software tools, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of these systems. Identify alternatives for optimizing computer resources. Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions. Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software. Collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade operating systems. Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade hardware and software interfaces with the operating system. Analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data processing needs. Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. Write and maintain system documentation. Responsible for being the liaison and governing force in all application projects tollgated through the company. Will be working with the operational partners to ensure that all signoffs are secured for technologies being brought into the company. Will be working on the monitoring requirements to ensure that all requirements are upheld within the project. Will make sure that all monitoring tools are put on the required hardware. Will be facilitating meetings, identifying risks, weighing the risks, engaging the monitoring team to ensure all systems are ready before releasing to production. Will be working on multiple projects at one time. Skill at navigating complex issues where passionate discussions may arise. Experience: Knowledge of Unix, Windows, Mainframe and general Microsoft office products is necessary.
