Matlab/Excel/BASH Developer in New York, NY

A large New York based Power Generating Company are seeking to fill a high responsibility Quantitative Developer position. The client is looking for someone who has a passion and wants to develop models and is good with computer systems, especially writing and deploying code. The main platforms used and technical requirements the candidate should have experience of development in are: Matlab Excel BASH A background in electric utilities or finance is highly desirable for the client as to is a PhD in computer science, math, operations research, computational finance etc. however the technical skill and aptitude at that level is the real requirement. The candidate will have exposure to the commercial side of the business, but primarily will need to function as the model guru on the team. Communication skills very important is very important for the client and requires the candidate to speak and understand English well, write English well, and is able to translate between technical and non-technical concepts.
