Genesis10 is seeking an Application Systems Analyst/Programmer for a major client in New York City.
Consultant will perform all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle, including problem investigation, business analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and support as part of a technology team focused on support of an Equity Investments group. Position primarily consists of supporting and developing software for the Equity Trading Desk and the Equity Investment Process.
Tasks & Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for working in an application development team that provides high quality software tools for Equity Trading technologies.
- Develop software that will interact with the Charles River Trading System vendor software. These may include software tools to provide PM's with the ability to load orders into the Charles River system.
- Develop and maintain SQL code and stored procedures used by the Equity Investments group.
- Develop scheduled processes and support; and maintain these processes to ensure information is available to the end users in a timely manner. This includes overnight processing.
- Develop .NET software for the Equity Trading team. This includes ASP.NET, C#.NET, and VB.NET.
- Candidate will be involved in longer term project implementations in addition to smaller project tasks.
- Candidate is expected to build a strong rapport with the trading desk, portfolio managers and operations personnel.
- Candidate will develop a familiarity with the database structures, content and processing cycles to serve as an expert in Charles River IMS system maintenance requirements.
- Candidate will need to be able to work independently and as part of an overall Equity Technology Team.
- Candidate must be flexible and have strong communication skills to facilitate prompt problem resolution. Experience: Required Experience/Skills:
- BS Degree in Computer Science or similar curriculum.
- Between 3-9 years of application development experience.
- Strong SQL experience.
- At least 2 years relational database experience.
- At least 2 years working with Microsoft Development tools, VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#.NET, Source Safe.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Microsoft SQL Server experience.
- Software development experience for a firm in the Financial Services industry.
- Experience supporting job processing streams and scheduling environment.
- Experience with Crystal Reports.
Experience developing financial applications and understanding financial concepts.
- Experience supporting and developing applications for Equity investment groups specifically trading systems, trade order entry systems, decision support portfolio management systems and/or quantitative equity software.
- Investment Management background.

The Global Desktop Architect is responsible for the design, architecture, and oversight of the global end-user computing environment. Responsibilities include desktop operating system and hardware standardization, communicating and enforcing these standards across the enterprise, software packaging and delivery, and evaluating and designing new products and services affecting end-user systems.
