Junior QA Tester in New York, NY

A financial services company is looking for bright enthusiastic individuals who are looking to begin or shift gears to pursue an IT-related QA tester position with a prestigious firm. Previous experience is not necessary, related course work or internships will suffice.

-This person will write Performance or Regression related testing scripts after performing detailed analysis.
-They will be expected to work independently and in a team setting learning as they go.
-Responsibilities will include detailed reporting and documentation.
-Looking for the Ration Testing tool and NOT the Mercury Testing Suite

-An example of the work would be a write test scripts using various testing tools after customizing the parameters for these tools to produce various ranges of performance / load testing or regression testing as the business needs relating to a specific application.



Experience: TECH SKILLS
Micro Soft product suite. Moderate.
Some basic programming in SQL Moderate.
other language experience "C" or "Java" Moderate

DESIRABLE SKILLS
Completed IT based courses on automation.
Experience on any automation project a plus.

The candidate should have a four year college degree in Computer Science with one or more of the basic programming courses such as SQL, C, C++, Java and has a basic understanding of the SDLC.

Person should understand the theory of business automation tools with the IT world (both Regression testing and Performance Testing) any hands on experience is a plus.

The successful candidate must have two years of practical business experience in a professional white collar environment before, during or after college. Individuals who have had "work study curriculums" would also qualify. Candidate should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of general business processes and possess excellent analytical skills. While this is NOT a programming or development position the person must have some skills relating to development, understand the basic skills of a developer yet not have the desire to become the traditional developer.

OTHER:

The candidate should have a willingness to learn and strong work ethic with the intent to be offered full time employment. There may be some off hour and weekend work occasionally.
