Qualitek services has an immediate 1 year+ project for a Network / Telecommunications Engineer in Rochester, New York (NY).RESPONSIBILITIES Primary focus will be on implementing and supporting new and emerging voice technologies with an emphasis on VoIP. Support current Voice Messaging Systems, multiple ACD/IVR Call Centers, transmission hardware which interfaces with LEC/IXC hardware as well as intra campus transmission circuits and termination hardwareTroubleshooting and implementation of enterprise data and voice networks (WAN, MAN, LAN, WLAN). Resolve critical data network problems. Monitor and analyze applications data network traffic to characterize performance and predict impacts due to network changes.. Provide data and telecom project management for site upgrades, local and remote system installations and new Program start-ups. Pay Rate: $31.
Requirements:
REQUIRED SKILLS:****Must be a US citizen or US Permanent Resident********Must have a Bachelors or above degree *****BS Communications Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering or related field with communications technology focusMinimum five+ years of experience troubleshooting and implementing LAN, MAN, and WLAN network systems. Two years experience in the Telecommunications field with experience working on PBXs. Experience implementing VoIP technologies is required. Experience with Avaya PBX , Cisco Call Manager, and Octel voice mail systems is highly desired. Experience working with multimedia collaboration technologies helpful.Familiarity with Cisco Systems network switches and associated IOSs is necessary. Experience interfacing with LEC/IXC account reps and technical liaisons helpful.
