Our client is a Global Hedge Fund and they are seeking a junior level C# Developer.
The position is in the expanding Global Development team, the individual will be responsible for developing and supporting proprietary trading, management information and back office operation applications and will be comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, team-orientated environment. A key requirement of the individual will be working with/coordinating with overseas colleagues.
Key tasks will be:
- Corporate Application Support: providing local and global support for corporate applications running in production environment.
- Bespoke Application Development: capture requirements and develop bespoke applications for local business users providing user training & support locally and globally.
- Corporate Application Development: working with developers in other offices, define, develop, test and deploy corporate applications.
Key Skill Requirements:
- Proficient development skills in .NET (C#, VB), VB6, VBA, SQL, COM and OOP.
- Working experience with SQL Server or other RDBMS.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP, 2003, Office.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn and work quickly, sometimes in pressurised environment.
- Organisational abilities ? record keeping, planning, tracking & reporting.
- Understanding of project management principles a plus.
Beneficial:
- Previous working experience in Finance sector.
- Any experience in ASP/ASP.NET, C/C++, Crystal Reports or UNIX shell scripting.
- Exposure to OLAP, Design Patterns.
- Working with real-time applications, ESP.
Skills can be trained for the right candidate.
Typically, our clients are looking for a degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or Mathematics with 1-4 years experience designing and implementing applications on Windows platform with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
