Title: Senior Systems Engineer
Job Purpose:
- Pre and post sales support and implementation of Microsoft and IT Industry related business products for our customers in the metropolitan New York area.
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively participating in the planning, design, and implementation of Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange systems, infrastructure and related hardware for customers.
This includes:
. Following life-cycle oriented processes and procedures
. Implementing test plans, migration plans, and delivery plans
. Network and application troubleshooting
. Prepare design documents and presentations - clearly describe the design including rationale for decisions and implications of decisions
. Deliver high-quality solutions to our customers to ensure their investment in technology is consistent with their business objectives
. Deliver project responsibilities inline with project plan
. Contribute to product development and written proposals
. Working in a team environment
Job Knowledge/Skills and Qualifications:
- Five + years of experience in delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, rollout and support experience
- An emphasis on Active Directory, Exchange and SMS migrations!
- In-depth knowledge of the following Microsoft technologies:
o Microsoft server-based products: Windows Server, Exchange MOM, ISA and WSUS
o Experience with competitive platform upgrades and migrations to a Microsoft platform
o iSCSI and FC Storage Technologies - server connectivity to SAN implementations
o Blade Server Technologies with emphasis on HP solutions and Implementations
VMWare and Microsoft Virtual Server Technologies
VMware ESX 2.5 and associated technologies.
Virtual Infrastructure 3 and associated technologies
o Microsoft Cluster Services Technologies and Implementation
o Microsoft Load Balancing Technologies and Implementation
Job Knowledge/Skills and Qualifications Continued
o Microsoft SQL Server Technologies and simple Implementations
o Microsoft and Blackberry Support of PDA access to email Technologies and Implementations
o Ability to create scripts, (batch file , vb scripts, and WSH scripts) for server/network operations automation
o LAN and WAN data replication Technologies
o Knowledge of Symantec/Veritas Network Backup Utilities and their Implementation
o Knowledge of industry anti-virus and anti-spam products with emphasis on Symantec and Trend-Micro
o Linux knowledge a plus
o A professional, business-focused attitude and courteous manner towards clients, partners and peers
o Ability to work weekends and/or off hours to meet clients' needs
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; or equivalent experience
- Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Exchange Certifications
- 5+ years of experience in client server technologies and project management
- Preference given for HP ASE and MASE Certifications
