PARSONS, one of the world's largest engineering / construction firms, has an immediate opening for an Senior Graphic Designer in our New York City office.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reports to the Manager, Design/Engineering in a Civil Engineering enviromnent. Proficiently manages routine assignments utilizing judgment and experience. The Senior Graphic Designer assists in planning, organizes and prepares graphic and presentation material to meet prescribed objectives.
Under minimal supervision, utilizes current graphic design technology and computer software packages (CAD / AutoCAD) to prepare design, and copy layouts for proposals, presentations, reports, technical papers, and other visual communications media. The incumbent at this level is capable of performing difficult and complex graphic design assignments.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Produces routine to complex graphics and presentations, requiring familiarity with the broad field of graphics design and publication layout, with knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon those to whom it may be presented. Assists Task Managers in the development of technical presentations and program/project planning activities.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Requirements include a proficiency in graphic design technology and software used to complete graphic design assignments. Demonstrated advanced graphic design skills and a thorough knowledge of graphics production techniques and reproduction/printing processes are also required. In addition, an aptitude for completing detailed, varied, and simultaneous graphic design assignments and a demonstrated commitment to meet schedule requirements is necessary.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
B.A. in Graphic Design from an accredited college or university.
Minimum two years of related experience, which can be coincident with college education.
Additional Requirements
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Evidence of good potential as shown by satisfactory growth and a good record of achievements and accomplishment in previous positions.
Proficiency in applying Graphic Standards techniques.
Proficient in the application of related computer software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Pagemaker, Quark Xpress, Coral Draw, Corel Photopaint, Corel Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Microsoft Powerpoint.
