Our client is a Global Hedge Fund managing $5 billion in assets located in Midtown Manhattan. They are looking for a strong Database Administrator to work in a collaborative team environment.
Functions:
- Database Administration, Support and Engineering
- Security and hardening of database environment
- Monitoring, trending and capacity planning of database environment
- Performance tuning of databases
- Manage storage requirements for database environments
- Implement disaster recovery architecture for database environment
Key Technologies:
SQL Server 2000 & 20005, mySQL, Oracle
Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems or computer Science or Equivalent technical work experience.
- Required: At least 5 years hands ? on experience managing a large scale enterprise Database infrastructure.
- Preferred: MCDBA
Skills:
- Strong experience in database administration with Microsoft SQL.
- Experience with Oracle and mySQL.
- Understanding of the Windows Server operation system.
- Knowledge of programming principles and command of VBscript, PERL and/or Windows shell scripting.
- Knowledge of storage technologies such as RAID, Snapshots, Mailbox recovery, SAN and NAS. EMC storage and /or NetApp is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated and highly professional with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
