Responsibilities include design, development and testing of new applications as well as enhancements to and support for existing applications in the Framework to support high volume transactions. There will be opportunities to exploit new technologies. The applicant must demonstrate strong design and analytical skills, be able to discuss requirements with clients and project sponsors, communicate ideas with other team members, and be proactive in problem solving.
As a senior developer, this role is also expected to provide advice and support within the development center. <p>
Experience: • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Financial industry experience: asset management, insurance, hedge fund. Good knowledge of fund portfolio management, fund hierarchy, fund accounting/tax treatments, equity position keepings, order management, electronic trading platform connectivity, etc.
• 5+ years trading software development experience using C++ and .NET/C#
• Knowledge of both Windows and UNIX (Solaris) platforms
• Innovative and self motivated
• Good communication skills
• Team player
• Pluses: experience with any of the following technologies
o FIX protocol to electronic trading platforms/systems
o Windows Forms and/or MFC or Windows API
o Java (Servlets)
o HTTP
o Web Services
o Microsoft Office development
o Tomcat and/or other Application Servers
o Relational databases / SQL
Pluses: experience working in software companies and with off-shoring or outsourcing groups.<p>
