I. Position Summary:

Design, develop, test, debug, implement, document, and maintain applications using Company standard application development tools and best practices. Work with Project Managers, Architects, and end users to understand business requirements and current business functionalities, propose alternatives, and then design and develop application solutions to meet those needs. Contribute to ongoing efforts to increase operational continuity and efficiencies.

II. Essential Functions:.

? Design, develop, test, debug, implement, document, and maintain new applications, major new versions of existing applications, and enhancements to existing applications
? Write efficient code for the presentation (ASP.NET, HTML), business logic (components), and data (database SQL, stored procedures, triggers, functions, etc.) layers to create robust, flexible, scalable, highly available, low-maintenance, and cost effective architecture. Core languages include Visual C#.net, JavaScript, and T-SQL
? Utilize Company standard development methodologies, coding standards, procedures, and techniques
? Provide time estimates, progress status reports, problem reports, or reports on any issues pertaining to the projects to Project Managers, Development Leads, and Architects in order to foster effective communication and coordination throughout the project life cycle
? Work with Architects and Project Managers to write, revise and finalize user specifications, technical documentation, and other descriptive documentation that may support software applications (e.g. on-line help)
? Participate in periodic code reviews to ensure high quality and consistent coding practices
? Adopt, follow, and contribute to the evolution of Company standard best practices for application development and IT in general
? Install, test, and maintain systems software, operating systems, compilers, etc.
? Participate in the development of training materials and/or online help materials for applications developed in-house
? Acquire new knowledge through training programs and/or books/web and keep current with technologies

III. Minimum Qualifications:

? Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience
? Developer certifications preferred, e.g. MCSD
? Experience in software development environments such as Visual Studio.NET using C#, IIS, XML/XSL, ASP.NET, HTML and SQL, SQL Server a must
? Microsoft .NET experience preferred
? Experience with relational database experience preferably with Microsoft SQL Server
? Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/D) experience
? Previous experience providing program design and system development services on systems projects required
? Good communicator and team player
? Three (3) to five (5) years of previous software development experience preferred, with particular emphasis on developing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale Microsoft environments
? Ability to translate internal user and end client requirements into a solid system design
? Ability to objectively evaluate alternative system designs and communicate benefits and tradeoffs
? Ability to select and apply elements of the .NET Framework to efficiently develop robust software
? Regular attendance is required
? Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
? Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance
? Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
? Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
? When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

IV. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

? Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2003 using the Visual C#.NET programming language. Strong knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript/VBScript, and XML also required
? Ability to construct and read object and data models in the Unified Modeling Language as well as database schema notated in Entity-Relationship diagrams
? Knowledge and experience with XML, XSD, and WSDL with regards to the implementation of XML Web Services preferred
? Ability to interpret user business requirements in order to define technical specifications
? Ability to prepare accurate and ?user-friendly? technical spec
