UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Business Analyst to join our NYC team as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. The business analyst should understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. In the performance of assigned responsibilities, the business analyst must interact with all levels of company employees and others. The highest integrity and professionalism is expected in all such interactions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting reviews; analyzing and evaluating business systems and user needs.
  • Support project management staff by assisting with documentation, including assessment of needs, and development lifecycles.
  • Assist developers with application design, development, testing and implementation.
  • Assist in maintaining configuration of application environment
  • Attend all company required meetings

Experience: To be considered for the position, candidates must possess the following mandatory skills and experience:

  • Experience conducting reviews; analyzing and evaluating business systems and user needs.
  • Experience providing guidance on devising cost effective and process efficient approaches to achieve the project objectives and mitigate risk.
  • Experience writing detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
  • Experience developing/maintaining business processes, system documentation and workflows in support of process improvement activities enabled by information technology.
  • Experience formulating system solutions to parallel overall business strategies.
  • Experience providing consultation on complex projects.
  • Experience providing judgment to plan and accomplish goals; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Experience designing and modifying custom database queries and reports as needed in support of operational performance analysis.
  • Experience consulting with users to identify current operating procedures, clarify program objectives and perform financial and operational analysis of business processes.
  • Experienced in the creation of reporting structures required to analyze and improve business operations.
  • Strong background and experience with training and development of personnel in their use of the company's ERP system.
