We are looking for an IT professional within the Knowledge Management sector. Hopefully someone with some law firm experience but definitely with 3-5 years Knowledge management experience interfacing with high level executives and non-technical people. We are looking for not only a person who can interface but also someone who can do the technical implementation. We are looking at 160 - 190K, ideally on the lower side.NYC Law Firm The Knowledge Management Engagement Manager will serve as the link between practicing lawyers of the firm and the most appropriate information resources necessary to service the clients effectively. He/she will have to dedicate substantial amount of time and effort understanding how our lawyers work individually and as a group. The successful candidate would become a trusted member of a target practice area and become intimately aware of all functions of the group. The second part of the role would be to assist the Knowledge Management group in prioritizing development and operational resource usage to best serve the needs of the practice area. This would involve collaborating on various analysis projects, and learning about existing softwares and information resources available to the lawyer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform process analysis of legal practice groups. Perform information needs analysis.Perform training needs analysis.Develop requirement analysis.Develop Use-Case analysis.Understanding legacy software systems.Managing user acceptance of new software systems.Perform buy/build analysis for new software systems.Evaluate software for best/fit.Monitor use of existing systems.Recommend retirement of inappropriate/out-of-date systems. Qualifications Experience in project management.Experience performing process analysis.Familiarity with object oriented software design concepts.Familiarity with database design concepts.Outstanding communications skills.
