Responsibilities:
Supporting office infrastructure, a heterogeneous environment of Macs, Windows
and Linux. This includes print servers, phone systems, firewalls, SAMBA domain
controllers, email system, virtualized test environments for QA, internal
network, ordering hardware, ticketing system, backups, LDAP, revision controlsystems, wikis, ID system, security and other internal applications. This position will help with the move to our great new office space nearby at the end of the year and will have the opportunity to work directly with other members of the infrastructure team on long term projects and production systems.
Experience: Requirements:
• BA/BS in Computer Science <br></p>
• 4+ years experience with Unix Systems Administration<br></p>
• Expertise in at least one scripting language, preferably Perl Strong<br></p>
• Understanding of IP fundamentals<br></p>
• Flexibility to be on call and occasionally work after hours or over a
weekend<br></p>
• Experience with databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL<br></p>
• Experience with Windows administration, SAMBA domain controllers<br></p>
• Understanding of data storage concepts and backups<br></p>
• Good communication and documentation skills<br></p>
• Great attention to detail and the ability to learn new things Be able to work as part of a team and individually<br></p>
• Must be able to start immediately<br></p>
Bonus: <br></p>
• Experience with Cisco hardware<br></p>
• Good understanding of iptables, HA configurations and monitoring<br></p>
• Familiarity with VMWare and ability to automate test environments<br></p>
• Experience maintaining an Asterisk VoIP system Web application experience<br></p>
• Some PHP or Ruby<br></p>
Work experience at a college/university Help Desk preferred. <br></p>
