Job Description
Company / Position:
Midtown based financial firm is looking for a Network Engineer. The candidate should have 7-10 years of experience with the installation, configuration and support of Cisco equipment. Extensive hands on experience with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and RIP are a must. Prior Trading / Financial industry experience is a big plus. Successor should be familiar with various Market Data and Execution vendors, respective technologies and support methods.

Skills
Strong problem determination skills are required. He / She must be a team player to work with multiple support groups in a very dynamic environment. This person will be stationed in our corporate branch in Midtown, remotely supporting many of our branches throughout the country. Frequent travel to our datacenter in Carteret, NJ will be required. Candidate must be able to deploy and support security, protocol, and hardware analysis tools throughout the enterprise network. Strong project management skills are a must as the selected individual needs to be able to deliver complex projects and plans on time. A proven track record in supporting applications through Netscreen and Cisco firewalls in large fast paced environments is necessary. Possession of a B.S or M.S degree and a CCNP/CCIE certification is a big plus. This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure. Some of the day-to-day tasks may be:

Install and configuration of BGP and Route redistribution.
Deploy Firewalls in Active/Passive modes
Configure and troubleshoot EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF problems
IDS and Sniffer trace analysis
Support Microsoft DNS and bind platforms
Install and support new routers and switches
Trouble shoot and create ACLs / Policy routing

Requirements (functions and protocols):
EIGRP, BGP4, OSFP, Netscreen FWs, HSRP, Spanning tree, Tac X, DNS, DHCP, Security Analyzers, Web Sense, Solar winds, TCP/IP, Snort, Unix, and Windows 2000, NAT, IGMP/CGMP and Multicast.

Requirements hardware:
Cisco 7500, 3600, 2600, and MSFC/Sup 720 routers. Cisco 4000/5000/6000 switches. Cisco IDS modules, Sniffers, and Cache flow devices. Encryption devices, Citrix / Netscaler global server load balances, ISG1000 Netscreen Firewalls, T1 / DS3 / FE / OC12 / Gigabit WAN and supporting equipment.

Additional:
The candidate needs to be able to work as part of a diverse team in a very sophisticated environment. This position also requires the candidate to be able to function in a support and engineering capacity. Travel between sites is sometimes required.
