Genesis10 is seeking an Application Support Analyst - Fixed Income for a major client located in New York City. This position is perm only, and is located in New York City. The Fixed Income Technology team is responsible for the development and support of all front, middle and back office applications and systems that are used to support Fixed Income business globally. Systems supported are a combination of In-house development and vendor applications, using a variety of technologies. The Fixed Income team is comprised of over 200 staff in London, New York, Tokyo and Singapore. The Fixed Income business aims to be one of the leading liquidity providers in the derivatives and the Government bond markets, and to offer an integrated sales, trading and research service to the client base comprising investor business, corporates, financial institutions and hedge funds. The product offering includes Government Bonds, interest rate swaps, basis swaps, interest rate options swaptions, FRAs and caps / floors.
Responsibilities:
- Production application support for Fixed Income electronic trading platform.
- Act as a liaison between users/traders, various internal technology groups, vendors, and ECNs.
- Work with various technology teams for problem resolution of trading, risk, and pricing application issues.
- Own and manage the incident response process.
- Must be able to escalate problems to appropriate technology and business teams, while adhering to SLAs.
- Monitoring trading systems, middle office, and back office applications as well as the underlying infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
- Escalate urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal or external resources.
- Perform daily run book activities including start of day and end of day healthchecks for shift handover.
- Collect and report system outage data for trend analysis.
- Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production.
- Perform post release testing after application releases and infrastructure updates.
- Participate and coordinate Business Continuity testing.
Experience: Required Experience/Skills:
- BA/BS degree with a background in Finance or Computer Science.
- Significant experience working within Fixed Income front office technology.
- Experience in Trading Floor Environment Knowledge of Fixed Income Business Processes.
- Ability to communicate verbally and maintain calm under stress.
- Must be a team player; the primary success criteria is to gain the trust and confidence of the trading desk and this can only happen by successfully working with every team involved in supporting this business.
- Major incident handling.
- Excellent customer facing skills with demonstrable ability of building relationships with traders.
- Must be able to demonstrate practical experience of day-to-day support including end-user queries, problem resolution of Trade/Pricing issues and taking ownership of end to end resolution.
- Experience with SqlServer, windows shell programming Autosys or other job scheduling tool.
- Good understanding of issues related to electronic trading environment for rates business.
- Solid understanding of the workflow and processes involved with trading systems from execution right through to Settlement preferred.
- Familiarity with Talarian SmartSockets.
- Familiarity with Visual Basic, Excel, Unix, shell commands, Oracle database, and MQSeries.
- Experience with the ION Trading Ltd. MarketView product suite.
- Strong understanding of pricing and risk management of the following products: Treasuries: Bills, Strips, Bond and IR Futures, Agencies:Bullets, Discount Notes, Callables (European,American, Bermudan),Supras Sovereigns, Commercial Paper (coming soon), IR Swaps. Inflation: TIPS, I-Strips, Inflation Swaps Derivatives: IR Swaps - all flavours, Caps, Floors, Swaptions (European, Bermudan), Deposits, FRAs Prop Trading: All of the above, plus Equity index futures, ETF's, single-stocks EGB/GILTS: Strips, Linkers, Futures, Swaps, Bonds.
