JOB DESCRIPTION: Experienced DB2 DBA to support legacy accounts. Person needs to be flexible, willing to provide 24x7 coverage and work other shifts as needed. Key skills include DB2 database administrator functions including, but not limited to, database object creation & alters, implementation, image copies, reorgs, statistics collection and analysis, recoveries, performance tuning, schedule and manage maintenance of production application databases, disaster recovery testing, knowledge of TWS (OPC), JCL, and database management tools and utilities. Must be able to perform problem determination and resolution for supported application databases and maintenance utilities, as well as change management activities, using standard change processes, in support of application database related changes. Use standard DB2 utilities and DBMS related products to perform DBA tasks, be able to adhere to department and Client processes, procedures, and work instructions, and where appropriate, be able to adhere to FDA compliance requirements. Primary Job Responsibilities: Support problem and change tickets for client server support operations for work involving problem determination and implementation of changes to hardware, software, applications or network systems. The work consists of performing primarily routine and standardized sets of tasks. The work may involve a series of repeatable tasks and steps that are followed when addressing service needs or situations for a particular account • Team members participate once or more a day in cadence discussion on team performance. They discuss issues or challenges, and receive trouble-shooting input /advice from other team members. They may also discuss team performance trends.
