A well known financial services company based out of New York City is looking for a Project Coordinator. This project involves migration from one infrastructure to another. Primary responsibility will be attending status calls and documenting and/or modifying what needs to be migrated. Candidates should be used to juggling different aspects of a project, have excellent writing skills, and the ability to communicate with many groups. Candidate will work closely with the following groups : developers, production team that will identify the content of the project, and the data operations team. Finance industry background and page based content experience are nice to haves. Will report to Project Manager for the Fixed Income Content Planning and Project Management. Scope: Business & Geographic Scope:Leadership of the definition, delivery and deployment phases of the Reuters Project Process, including management of the project. May be global or regional in scope. Complexity: Management of medium projects with no supervision. Typical complexity of the project is such that at least three of the following apply: (a) Number of development/testing locations = several (b) Number of implementation sites to achieve goal =10's (c) Number of countries for implementation = many in one region (d) Number of projects which are a dependency = 1 (e) Implementation does require product launch / direct impact on our customers' businesses. Financial: Production of project financial reporting. Strategy: Deliver projects to support Reuters ability to achieve revenue targets in customer segments. Manages programmes within company Project Practice standards to time, quality and budget. PROJECT MANAGER LEVEL 1 Experience: 4 plus years Indirect budget: 1 - 5m Resource allocation: 10 plus Organizational complexity: Many different parts of the organisation need to be involved to achieve goals, some may have conflicting priorities and working (cultural) practices are very different Experience: Experience: 1 - 4 years Indirect budget: less than 1m Resource allocation: less than 10 Project Duration: less than 1 year Organizational complexity: Work can be achieved with a small group of geographically co-located staff, reporting to the same management group and adopting common working practices. Will work with project team and meet with project team Line Managers. Will liaise with parties external to the project at all levels i.e. Senior Management to communicate project progress and any issues which need to be raised. Will leverage expertise of other project management staff. Responsibilities: 1. Defines, documents and executes medium-scale projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project.2. Estimates costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to agreed terms of reference.3. Prepares and maintains project and quality plans and tracks activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports as appropriate.4. Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Ensures that deliverables are implemented within these criteria.5. Manages the change control procedure gaining agreement for revisions to the project from project stakeholders.6. Provides effective leadership to the project team ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience. Identifies any problems with sponsorship. Required: Bachelor degree with recommended 3 years relevant experience or non-bachelor degree holder with recommended 5 years relevant experience. In addition, professional certification such as CAPM or PMP from the Project Management Institute is desirable.Experience must demonstrate managing projects to successfully deliver within specified timescales and budget.Knowledge of Reuters is required.
