Recognized as a leading hedge fund and portfolio manager in fixed income, futures, currency, commodities and global equities. This international asset management organization with $10 billion of client and proprietary assets under management is seeking a Sr Java Developer. They implementing the Murex System for complete real-time STP (from Front Office trading to Back Office settlement to Real-Time risk management.) This will include virtually all financial products including fixed income, Interest Rate derivatives, FX, FX derivatives and exotic options, Commodities and derivatives, equities and mortgage-backed securities.
STP is implemented using custom-designed XML schemas as well as industry-standard XML schemas (such as FIXML and FpML) which are integrated using the Web Methods platform for bi-directional real-time trade validation, enrichment and Murex integration
Servers run primarily on Sun/Unix and Windows platforms. Oracle is the primary relational database used but do utilize MS SQL Server and Sybase as well. Clients are Windows 2000, XP or Linux. Web Methods is used as the Enterprise Application Integration and Messaging platform. Position Responsibilities:
The individual will work with IT and business staff to implement trade processing systems that interface with the Murex MXG 2000 system.
The individual will have a key role in ensuring that applications are implemented to support trades and secondary transactions processing for many financial products including FX and FX options, equities and equity derivatives, fixed income products including listed and OTC derivatives.
The individuals responsibilities will be to:
-Understand existing business requirements and technical specifications.
-Understand existing XML schemas, work with XML data in order to implement applications.
-Implement applications in Java and XML
-Test and support applications. The candidate MUST possess the following: Minimum B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline. Candidate MUST have a strong dedication to understand the business requirements, understanding the complexities of multi-tier technical implementation projects, and getting projects completed on-time. One or More of: Java and J2EE Microsoft .NET C# or VB.NET. Enterprise Messaging application development in C, C++, Java, or C# with products such as Web Method Broker, JMS, MQ Series, Tibco Rendezvous or similar. Integration Products such as Web Methods Integration Server, Tibco Business Works, Sonic Studio, WebLogic Integration or similar. XML Data Experience Heavy use of XML: Understanding XML Data files, Creating XML Files. Knowledge of XML Schemas and DTDs. Preferred XSL, Xpath, and Xquery, Preferred: FIX and FIXML.
