Our client has an immediate need for a Systems Analyst to determine information requirements of management, as well as the boundaries and priorities of new projects, and to discuss system operational capacity and requirements, in conjunction with the Team Leader. Additional responsibilities of the Systems Analyst include:
• Conferring with Department Leaders involved with proposed projects to ensure cooperation and further define nature of projects.
• Reviewing project feasibility studies and establishing work standards and document procedures.
• Participating in technical projects such as documentation of computer programs for specified programming applications.
• Reviewing new or modified programming including documentation, diagrams and flowcharts, to determine if programs will perform according to user requests and conform to guidelines.
• Recommending program improvements or corrections to programmers.
• Identifying differences between established standards and user applications and suggesting modifications to conform to standards.
• Setting up tests at request of user to locate and correct program operating error following installation of program.
• Conducting compatibility tests with 3P software.
• Monitoring program performance after implementation to prevent recurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation.

Experience: To be considered for this role, the incumbent must possess 8+ years experience in the following:

• Computer Systems - AS/400
• Operating Systems – OS/400
• Programming Languages – RPG II, RPG/400, RPG ILE
• EDI, ANSI, EDIFACT, Inovis
• AS/400 Products – RVI Imaging, EDI(Inovis), Lotus Domino, CA/400, Infoprint
• Customs and Border Protection – ABI, Customs Broker Software and CBP law and procedures

The candidate must also possess a Bachelor's Degree (B.S. Computer Science) from a four year college or university. Additional requirements include:

• Proven RPG programming and EDI expertise
• Able to write bulletproof programming
• The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
