This is NOT a graphic design job...it is 100% production. (80% of the job consists of digital production work and file preparation).
This important leadership role is to supervise the production for all the catalogs and retouching with-in our in-house graphics department and to ensure that files are ready for separations and printing by deadline. This includes determining the catalog print specifications, supervising the retouching of images for all products, and the proper trapping of 4, 5 and 6 color catalogs.
This position is also responsible for communicating with our Hong Kong office and to request for quotes and bids from China printers. This role also includes the teaching of production techniques to the various artists and freelancers we staff.
The position requires an experienced Print Production/Project Professional who is a detail oriented, team player with exceptional organizational and training skills to supervise our Graphic/Print department.
Experience: • Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design
• Highly detailed with excellent organizational and communication skills.
• 3-5 years experience within the Print production environment.
• Excellent computer skills with good working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Acrobat, Filmaker Pro, and MS office applications as well as Rip programs.
• Experience with digital print technology and understanding of digital pre-press operations, and an understanding of print servers and drivers.
• Knowledge of color calibration processes and instruments desired.
• Understanding of basic color theory, digital file processing and workflow management is essential.
The ideal candidate to fill this role will be a creative problem solver with a can-do attitude and a strong eye for detail.
