Job Description: WHY WAIT?Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity?This may be your lucky day!It is time for a change, and CDI can help!We have an immediate need for a Infrastructure Architect - 8 month contractJOB DESCRIPTIONBachelor degree in information technology, computer science or related field and eight to twelve years relevant experienceHands-on experience with installation and deployment of new hardware equipment (servers, storage, and network) and system software (Operating System and Utilities)In depth knowledge of various system infrastructure configurations such as server clustering, intra-site load balancing, fail-over replication and mirroring, and server certificates Proven experience in designing, implementing, and deploying enterprise application infrastructure solutions in an environment that uses both Microsoft and Oracle technology Proven experience with database technologies, especially Microsoft SQL Server and OracleKnowledge of Web development technologies, especially ASP.Net and Oracle ODI Adept in providing infrastructure evaluations and risk assessmentsPrevious work experience with SUN/Solaris, Windows Server, and HP Open viewExperience with patch management, upgrade and migration of system software as requiredFamiliarity with knowledge and project management tools such as Microsoft SharePoint and ProjectGood communication (Verbal and Written) skillsTeam player and leadership skills Determine the appropriate infrastructure configuration to support the business and technology architectures for the projectThe Infrastructure Architect is also responsible for SLA related to availability, reliability, performance and response time.The Infrastructure Architect's domain includes responsibility for interfacing with our hosting vendor for setting up systems for clustering, load-balancing, replication, and mirroring, working out data-center level operational policies, and maintaining applications and services across various subcontractorsCoordinate activities related to infrastructure setup and configuration, infrastructure asset tracking, coordinating with system and database administrators, and project managers, documentation of SOP related to IT activities.Coordinate database infrastructure related work with Systems and Database AdministratorsWork with the Technical Lead in maintaining project schedule for Technical Environment/Infrastructure, and coordinating/communicating with other work streams.Work with the Solutions Strategist, Enterprise Application Integration Architect, and other technical experts in maintaining and configuring hosting environment at the data center for scalability, reliability, manageability, performance, and security.
