A large financial firm located in downtown Manhattan seeks a Sourcing Analyst to work for a contract slated to last 6 months plus. The scope of this role covers specific software sourcing sub-categories or suppliers, and delivering all software sourcing activities against these categories. The scope also includes owning and managing all internal and external relationships that are required in order to deliver against the global technology sourcing strategies and the software category strategy. This includes managing relationships with internal stakeholders of all levels, as well as external supplier relationships. Scope also includes building and maintaining a strong working knowledge of supply market conditions for the software category. Geographic scope will vary from global to local, depending on the stakeholder requirements. Business impact is achieved through appropriate application of local, regional and global sourcing strategy and processes for the software category. The role has a sourcing sub-category impact on internal relationships and external supplier selection. Strategic and Operational Key Responsibilities: . Sourcing or delivering specified areas/projects in the agreed geographies . Developing and implementing a sourcing and procurement strategy aligned with Technology Sourcing objectives . Achieving targeted results, including cost savings . Applying strategic sourcing practices and managing supplier negotiations to ensure full benefits are realized and sustained . Ensuring effective transition from current practices to any new models including migration to new sourcing systems and P-Hub processes . Developing, managing, and measuring key supplier relationships . Managing and motivating resources, work plans, and progress of work . Meeting with senior stakeholders to build and win internal support and implement communications plans . Resolving project level issues and escalating as appropriate . Identifying and securing sourcing resource and related requirements . Ensuring processes and communication channels exist in order to maximize the effectiveness of the delivery and implementations of any sourcing negotiations or projects . Maintaining and presenting to the Regional Manager, market analysis for all businesses regarding product and service development opportunities . Promoting Technology Sourcing and its global benefits internally and externally Key Performance Indicators: . Successful development and implementation of a sourcing and procurement strategy . Support of the Technology Sourcing objectives . Cost savings . Establishment of effective relationships with senior executives in the business critical areas to achieve the agreed category and program/project strategies . Gain the support of senior stakeholders for successful transition to new practices . Ensure all supplier relationships are managed professionally and supplier management processes are implemented successfully . Creation of profitable improvements to Thomson Reuters global product and services portfolio . Maintenance and presentation of intelligence and market analysis regarding product and services development opportunities Must have: . Strategic TECHNOLOGY Sourcing experience (minimum 5 - 7 years) . SOFTWARE Sourcing experience . Experience in dealing with Blue Chip Technology suppliers ( i.e IBM, Oracle, Sybase, CA, Symantec) . Experience in dealing with Project / Change Management events (org. re-structures / creating a team ) . Must have people management experience . In depth experience in sourcing within blue-chip organizations . Success in managing major procurement projects/programs . Success and ability in the development of strategic plans for procurement together with clear evidence of the ability to implement such plans and achieve the benefits targeted . Success in managing sourcing projects and programs on a global scale . Management of direct reports of virtual teams desirable . Strong interpersonal skills . High energy and ability to deal at all levels within the business . Membership of ISM or equivalent desirable . Minimum of 8 years experience in sourcing & procurement field . Experience in managing software suppliers such as: Computer Associates, Oracle, Microsoft, HP, SAP, and Mainframe Operations Education Required: .
