The IT Analyst II - Technical Support will provide maintenance and support for end users ensuring that all hardware platforms, operating systems, utilities, and related tools and devices are available to successfully maintain production schedules and service levels. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED . Functions, somewhat independently, under direction of senior technician or supervisor/manager. Generally follows documented procedures. . Assists in analyzing and evaluating system malfunctions and takes appropriate action as directed. . Involved in the installation and rollout of new software packages, upgrades and new desktop hardware. . Install and configure desktops, laptops, software, and peripheral devices. . Participates in the testing and evaluation of new desktop hardware and software. . Respond to issues escalated by Tier 1 support via a ticket tracking system. Keeps all information in ticket tracking system current. . Supports mobile workforce - Blackberry, Laptop and remote connectivity. . Responsible for documenting solutions to problems. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENT . Typically has 1 to 2 years technical experience with demonstrated working knowledge of operating systems, hardware platforms, and technical disciplines and problem solving/troubleshooting skills. . This position typically requires an Associates Degree or technical degree/certificate in related IT field. . Must be able to work in a team environment, but be able to work on projects individually when assigned. . Self-motivated, detailed oriented and have good organizational and verbal communication skills. . Ability to handle a heavy workload and to work well under pressure. . Strong interpersonal skills to provide proper level of customer service required in the position. . Be available for on-call - rotating schedule (pager, cell phone and PDA provided). Experience: QUALIFICATIONS: . Experience with Novell Netware 6.5 is highly preferred (or must have worked with Novel 5 in the last 2 yrs) . Experienced supporting managed/unmanaged XP desktop environment . Familiarity with TCP/IP tools and proficient in their use for troubleshooting . Experienced setting up HP network printers in a TCP/IP environment . Experience supporting Cisco Layer 2 Switching a plus .
