Infrastructure Engineer in New York, NY

A well known Financial Company based out of New York City is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer. Candidates local to Delaware also desired. The individual selected for this position will become a member of the Chief Investment Office (CIO) located in NY or DE. This individual will have responsibility for supporting and engineering solutions for CIO's Application Development, Operate , Mid-Office and Front-Office teams globally. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for supporting and engineering solutions for other Lines of Businesses (LOB) stakeholders within the CIO environment.This individual will be expected to contribute on both an individual basis as well as a member of larger teams. The Infrastructure Team is responsible for the architecture, maintenance and continuous improvement of the CIO infrastructure. This involves the coordination of testing and deployment of such changes in the UAT and Production environments. Members of the CIO Infrastructure team are responsible for managing these efforts and liaising with the necessary UNIX/LINUX SAs, Sybase and Oracle DBAs, Operate, AD, Mid office and corporate technology representatives. The ability to lead projects ranging with various technical components is a must. The project portfolio ranges from infrastructure projects to the fringe application development projects with many stakeholders from various organizations, including but not limited to the broader IB/GTI organizations. This person will eventually be the CIO representative into these organizations. The CIO application suite consists of a complete risk management system comprised of trade capture, pricing, profit and loss, reference data and market data as well as interfaces to internal/external settlements and accounting systems. The systems support a wide range of complex fixed income and derivative instruments and trading strategies including: mortgage-backed securities, government and corporate bonds, credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, and exchange traded futures and options. Experience: Ideal candidate has excellent problem solving skills, interested in working within a team structure, positive attitude, and thrives in a dynamic business / technical environment that values change. College degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experiences a must. Essential Skills: Clear Communication skills Significant Architectural experience in at least one of the following technical disciplines Linux, Solaris, Sybase, Oracle, AIX, Sybase Repserver, Replication Technologies, NIS, LDAP, VMWare, SAN This experience would include designing a highly available, redundant environment able to service a broad application suite, with a diverse usage profile Strong internals skills in at least one of the following technical disciplines Linux, Solaris, Sybase, Oracle, AIX, Replication technologies, NIS, LDAP, This ability to demonstrate how this knowledge may be valuable in debugging technical problems A proven ability to integrate applications from various sources into a heterogeneous environment Perl and OO Perl Shell Scripting Skills Nice to Haves ( not requirements ): LDAP Administration/Design NIS Experience Understand of various storage technologies ( SAN/NAS/VVM/HP Storage Array) Java Sybase Repserver Autosys Web Logic Server Administration PLEASE EMAIL RESUME IN MS WORD WITH SHORT SYNOPSIS OF MATCHING SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE.
