Member of a global DBA team with a strategic platform of SQL Server and an secondary platform of Oracle. The position entails day to operational DBA duties as well as the opportunity to get involved in projects that relate the overall design on the database environment. Day activities include Monitoring alerts, correcting operational issues and deploying developer requests to development, test, and production environments and writing scripts to automate repetitive administrative tasks.
Requirements:
Required Skills: At least 3 years experience with SQL Server 2000 Administration Experience with SQL Server Replication Experience with SQL Server Log Shipping Ability to build and optimize SQL Queries and T-SQL Stored procedures. Operating System experience: Windows XP/2000/2003 Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) SpecificPreferred Skills: Experience with SQL Server clustering Oracle expertise : Oracle 8i and 9i Administration SQL and SQL Optimization Familiarity using PL/SQL and experience building and calling packages and stored procedures Experience with Omnireplicator softwareJob Description we are looking for (in order of importance):-Ability to understand and code in Sql Server SQL (SQL and T/sql)-General understanding and experience in Oracle (SQL & PL/sql)-Ability to conform with company coding and naming conventions and other process standards -Experience in database design, including visual tools (eg, erwin)-Good Communication skills and team player-Experience in performance tuning-Experience in web environment and .Net is a plus
