We are currently recruiting for a Fiber Optic Design & Implementation Consultant for a 1 year long contract position with a client in the NYC area. The position involves the design and configuration of Cisco 15454 OADM. Implement new processes/functions on optical devices as required, including SONET, RPR and DWDM. Provide advanced-level technical support for network problems and document steps taken to resolve problems. Provide advanced network support in new project development. Provide technical assistance on the feasibility of new projects. Research fiber optic implementations using Cisco, and other vendor's hardware and software to design and determine support requirements. Install, test, and implement new designs. Identify and document application and procedural changes necessitated by new designs. Provide technical assistance as required to implement design changes. Research and modify network processes and procedures to ensure compatibility with hardware and software upgrades. Provide comprehensive documentation and skills transfer to Network engineering and operations staff members. Must have 8 years experience in Networking large Scale Design & Implement, 3 years experience in Fiber Optic Network Infrastructure and Cisco 15454 -multi-ring configs.
