Our client has an immediate need for a Network Administrator to assist in maintaining and supporting their IP Network. The responsibilities will include: tracking software revisions; upgrading network wide system; working with engineering to test and turn-up new hardware/software; updating bugs from vendors; resolve hardware/software problems; assisting customers in turn-up of service and repair; troubleshooting over the phone; providing directions to field technicians during outage situations; completing hardware maintenances during off hours. Experience: As an ideal candidate for this role, five or more years of experience in a data environment is required. Extensive knowledge and practical experience in the use of the following routing protocols is needed: MPLS, BGP and OSPF. Extensive experience in the following areas is a must: IP Subnetting; VPN; Network Design; Dial/DSL technologies; provisioning and troubleshooting with Cisco Routers (7200-12000 series), Cisco Switches (6500 series), PIX Firewall, Juniper Routers (M series), Juniper ERX, Juniper Netscreen Firewall. Scripting ability is a big plus. In addition, the candidate must have strong oral and presentation skills, the ability to multi-task, and be results-oriented.
