Description
Provide application support services to the Markets Group businesses. Responsibilities include production support, security administration and implementation support. Quality assurance testing of application changes and environmental upgrades are other key responsibilities.
Information Technology Support Analyst to be part of a team providing support for one or more of the Group's critical business applications. The successful candidate would be expected to acquire a strong working knowledge of the businesses they support and demonstrate strong technical skills in areas such as hardware and software environments, effective testing techniques, change management and access control concepts and application interfacing concepts.
Information Technology Support Analysts are expected to cover production operating hours of the applications they support as well as be available off-hours for application troubleshooting. Occasional support on weekends for testing activities is required.
Responsibilities
Assist with the development of requirements and functional specifications for application changes;
Assist in troubleshooting, resolving and reporting on application disruptions;
Participate in development discussions and application and infrastructure change testing;
Facilitate the transition of applications from development to implementation;
Participate in the evaluation and acquisition of vendor software;
Prepare test scripts, perform testing and provide support for mission critical applications;
Interact closely with service providers, management and users;
Lead other technical/business analysts in performing software and application testing and migration;
Interact closely with FRIT to keep current and
knowledgeable on FRIT supported and controlled
procedures and services, including change control, Service Level Agreements, and contingency activities;
Maintain a close relationship with support teams for other applications to co-ordinate and determine the impact of other application software changes on performance; and
Undertake complex technical ad hoc assignments.
Requirements
Bachelors degree, preferably in Management Information Systems, and/or equivalent work experience;
A minimum of five years experience demonstrating proven project planning and leadership skills in order to meet effectively deadlines on team and individual assignments;
Demonstrated understanding of Business Financial Applications;
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff;
Advanced knowledge of distributed processing concepts, production support methodologies, change control procedures and application security issues required;
Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to develop test plans and test scripts and experience with systems acceptance testing;
Proven experience with UNIX, XP, Websphere, Oracle, JAVA and networking is desirable; and
Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
