Genesis10 currently has an opening for a Core Java Developer in New York City. This is a 6 month assignment for a large investment bank.
Work Description:
The team works in a dynamic environment. Work may involve following items depending on priorities and project life cycles
- Design and develop calculation modules to integrate analytical library with application platform
- Develop or enhance option model analytics
- Add-hoc spreadsheet development
- Maintain and enhance existing system functionalities
- Follow release and production change procedures and work with other teams to deliver and maintain reliable and functional front-office pricing and trading system.
- Communicate with traders directly sometimes to clarify requirement or address issues.
- Participate in rotational production support activities.
- Identify, analyze, communicate, and resolve application, infrastructure, and environmental issues and problems
Experience: Experience and skill sets:
- 2+ years of hands on core java developer experience
- Solid C/C++ experience is a plus
- Solid analytical skills and strong financial model background
- Solid knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas: Fixed Income, commodity option and FX options
- Ability to cope with rapid front office development and to respond and address production situation promptly
- Ability to communicate and act professionally with IT staff and business clients while under intense pressure.
- Advanced degree in financial engineering, math, physical science or engineering is required, but open for really bright junior developers of great potentials.
- Experience in messaging middleware (publish/subscribe, JMS, Tibco RV, Sonic, etc)
- Experience in Perl and shell scripting
- Experience in UNIX/LINUX and Windows
