RESPONSIBILITIES:This position resides in the Branch Platform Delivery Systems team. Applications supported are typically employee facing, online, real time systems requiring high performance and availability. This position requires someone who can translate function specifications into highly responsive designs and solutions, leveraging the appropriate technologies. Responsible for installation and testing of new and existing web and distributed software supporting M&T revenue generation and support organizations as required. Performs and oversees basic to complex systems analysis, design and programming efforts. Plays a key role as an individual contributor on complex projects. Maintains an excellent functional understanding of the supported application(s).Must be able to prepare well-documented technical specifications from functional specifications. Work independently with business, operational and other application departments answering questions, resolving problems, and gaining understanding of any necessary changes to the system. Support projects from initial requests through implementation. Creates, maintain, and modifies routine programs according to clear and complete specifications. Test programs thoroughly, review existing program logic and perform any necessary debugging.
BASIC SKILLS:Proficient in design and development of applications utilizing Distributed and Web technologies. Excellent communication and organizational skills.Experience with financial applicationsFour years college degree or work experience in a technical environment. Experience working on a project team utilizing systems development methodology and structured project management framework.
IDEAL SKILLS:Experience with interfacing distributed and Web applications to mainframe systems.
