Leading NYC University seeks a Business Analyst/Director of Advancement Services to provide overall leadership to the administrative operations of the Development and Alumni Relations Office. The Director will be responsible for the overall management of advancement modules within Banner, the university's fundraising database. The Director maintains a synergy of data-related services that support all facets of development. S/he will supervise the areas of database administration, gift accounting, stewardship, and prospect research. The Director will work closely with colleagues in development, alumni relations, IT, and finance, to plan and execute comprehensive fund raising programs.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate all data for prospects and donors (including alumni, parents, friends, and institutions) within a centralized database which provides opportunities for targeted research, mass constituent outreach, and comprehensive reports of fundraising campaign results and projections
• Creating standard and custom constituent and financial reports, the preparation of information for mass direct mail and phone solicitations, and the production of all mailing lists.
• Supervises all aspects of gift processing and works with the gift accounting manager and the finance office to reconcile gift activity between offices.
• Functions as liaison between the development office and the Information Technology department
• Manages the security of alumni information, safeguarding privacy rights and confidential information and grants user access to that information as necessary
• Oversees budgets, progress, deadlines, goals and objectives related to the above responsibilities
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required
• Expert database knowledge (Banner or Oracle a strong plus)
• 3-4 years Development/Fundraising experience with specific knowledge in non-profit data and gift procedures, standards, policies and practices
• Prior management and supervisory experience
• Ability to work with a diverse population
• Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
• Highly professional; detail, deadline and task oriented. Experience in multitasking
• Personal initiative, creativity, and problem solving skills
