Description Our client, a global financial services firm and a market leader in securities, asset management and credit services, is seeking a DB2 DBA. Location: New York, NY Type of Position: Contract Position Description: The secured funding application development team at Brokerage is looking for an experienced DB2 database specialist to join the team in New York. They will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of developing database applications for investment banks/hedge funds; taking high-level requirements, turning them into a working application and then deploying that application. They will be working on a high-profile project to optimize the use of the firm's global inventory of collateral across all locations and asset classes. Experience of the repo, securities lending or collateral management business, while not required, will be desirable and the candidate will be expected to build an understanding of the business model. The DB will be at the center of a large system that utilizes Java in our Back End servers/services, so Java experience is essential as well. Skills Required: DB specialist with skills in relational DB theory, DB design, DB2, sql, stored procs/triggers, optimization and archiving Strong track record in developing investment banking applications Proven ability to deliver high-quality software working in multi-person teams Self-starter, able to take high-level requirements and convert them into a working application Ability to mentor other developers and train them on Skills Desired: Experience of Repo, Securities Lending or Collateral Management Experience of using agile development practices
