Due to our consistent growth and prosperity, we are looking to fill a key MS Server Engineer role within the Technology area of M&T Bank.RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems related to the Microsoft Server Environment and VMware virtual server deployments. Resolves highly-complex technical issues, conducts advanced research, and identifies product/service innovations. Provides the highest level of technical support/expertise to technicians levels I through III in the Microsoft Server areas. Will be a senior team technical resource interacting with all other Information Systems personnel to identify and correct issues. This individual must be able to prioritize the work to meet deadlines and the needs of the user community. Will be responsible for managing critical technical projects.Microsoft Administration and Planning in Physical and Virtual Environments Active Directory GPO Integration into Server Builds Citrix XPe/4.5 Administration and Management Integration with Network Security Requirements for Windows Systems Working with Windows Servers 2000, 2003, 2008, etc. Perform system administration, installation, problem isolation, and resolution on Windows systems. Participate in planning, designing, documenting, and implementing new technologies. Third party product integration into the Microsoft Server PlatformBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in administering an enterprise Microsoft Server implementation Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or have 5+ years experience in MS Server environment Over 3 years of experience in the field or related Microsoft area. Integration with Network Security Requirements for Windows Systems. Provides highly analytical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies to assist business units in meeting strategic objectives Prepares thorough, clear technical specifications and functional specifications, and updates systems documentation. Prepares and reviews assessments to include required tasks, estimated time frames and effort for any scope project. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a requirement.IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: MBA in Computer Science or related discipline preferred. A complete understanding of the system development life cycle, ability to introduce application development alternatives and an understanding of the client area’s functions. Experience with state of the art application development support software and hardware platforms and proficiency in multiple programming languages. Demonstrates a high aptitude for complex problem analysis and resolution. Experience with Citrix XPe/4.5 Microsoft and other industry certifications
