Our direct client located in New York, NY has a right to hire opportunity for a Sr. .Net Developer. Position will be 3-6 months contract and will then convert to full time with the client.

The Senior Application Developer is responsible for participating in all phases of application development, performing such activities as analysis and design, programming, hardware and software evaluations, and user interactions. Senior Application developers may be required to manage the day-to-day aspects of projects. The Senior Application Developer will primarily support all .net/sql server applications within the HRIT/Payroll IT department.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Works with other developers and business analysts to develop and write applications systems and programs.
? Develops documentation and help in partnerships with Business Analysts
? Provides guidance and assistance to the applications users and support teams on all aspects of application deployment, training and support, including:
o Installation
o Configuration
o Super user training
o End user training
o First and second tier support
o First and second tier troubleshooting
? Provides clear, consistent, regular communication with all project stakeholders at all levels, including presentations to senior management, creating agendas and meeting minutes.
? Identifying and resolving project issues, including issue tracking and escalation.
? May assist the Application Manager (or Director) in the creation of project plans. Should have responsibility for some plans also.
? Actively participates in applications planning/strategy meetings and provides input on the most appropriate and effective use of applications.
? Develops software code that conforms to IT standards for quality and conformity.
? Creates software solutions within the parameters of the documented Software Development Life Cycle standards.
? Delivers software solutions (both vendor and in-house) within the parameters of the I S & T standards for change control.
? Develops system designs with functional and technical specifications to meet customer functionality, customization and integration requirements.
? Ensures all project requirements and/or objectives are properly documented.
? Ensures proper post-implementation support and performance to meet business needs.
? Manages and tests data, including mapping data, coordinating test files, and facilitating data transfer with client.
? Manages priorities with the business on issues, enhancements, and day to day activity.


DECISION MAKING/ACCOUNTABILITY:
? Interacts with all levels of the organization, including senior members of the IT organization as well as the line of business.
? Works with providers of software and hardware products as well as consulting vendor service providers


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

? Five (5) years related IT experience with similar systems and software.
? In-depth knowledge of current technology used within the I T organization including development tools and languages as well as various technical platforms used in development of business systems.
? Current technology includes:
o Win 2000/XP desktop Platforms
o Microsoft Windows Server technologies (2000, 2003)
o Basic Networking (TCPIP, LAN-Wan, Network Topology as it relates to Applications)
o MS Office Suite - Office 97 and forward (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
o SQL Server client server environment (Wintel and RS-6000/UNIX, Oracle, Microsoft)
o Sharepoint
? Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
? Strong troubleshooting skills
? Experience in HR, Payroll, or Time and Labor Systems is a plus
? Experience supporting Transcentive Stock application is a plus
? Experience in interacting with Oracle HRMS applications is a plus
? Must have a demonstrated knowledge of system development life cycles with emphasis on design, testing, development and project management.
? Must have strong interpersonal and organization skills and be able to communicate clearly with all levels of the business including peers, technical management, customers and/or external vendors.
? Must be able to work in a team environment or as a sole contributor.


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
? Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in system analysis, programming, project implementations and technical management is required.
