PMO Administrator/Analyst in New York, NY

Our direct client located in midtown, NYC has a 3 month contract to hire position open for a PMO Administrator/Analyst. Excellent written and verbal communication skills A MUST! ? Top responsibilities: develop templates/standards; data analysis/create reports; define & develop process methodology; administering PMO toolset ? right now it?s things in Sharepoint, MS Project but it will change to CA-Clarity or Planview. The new tool set has not been selected yet but its either going to be CA-Clarity or Planview. Experience in either one is a must

PURPOSE:

To provide administrative and analytical support for the client IT Program Management Office (PMO) team. Prepare budgeting, project scheduling, and statistical reports as required. Define, maintain and support PM processes through the creation of Project Management templates and guides. Administer Project & Portfolio Management system for the IT department for Time Tracking, Resource Management, Project Management and Project/Portfolio level reporting


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Collaborate with Project Managers within the client PMO team as well as the Finance organization to generate and track time, labor, and expenses associated with all IT projects.
? Provide reports and queries to the client IT management to monitor and measure project and staff performance.
? Consolidation, manipulation, and organization of detailed financial data using Microsoft Excel?s formulas
? Prepares documents, spreadsheets, reports and presentations, as needed
? Creates and/or maintains appropriate logs, databases, inventories, filing (hard or soft copy), status reports/tracking
? Assist Project Managers with generation of project status and financial analysis reports, including, but not limited to analyzing actual, scheduled and budgeted metrics
? Recommend and assist in executing process improvement
? Holds/Attends Kickoff/status meetings as necessary
? Developing/editing of PowerPoint presentations with graphics and animation
? Assist with conference projects as needed
? Develop and maintain Project Management templates (Ex. status reports, budget forecasts, risk plans, etc.)
? Contribute to the overall client?s IT Project Management Methodology

DECISION MAKING/ACCOUNTABILITY:

? Interacts with all levels of the organization, including senior members of the IT organization as well as the line of business.
? Required to work independently to provide Project Management guidance to the clients IT Project Managers, Application Development Managers and IT/Operations Managers
? Required to communicate with senior IT Management to communicate project delivery metrics and status as well as IT Resource forecasts


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

? Knowledge of Project Management best practices and methodologies (ex. PRINCE2, PMBOK)
? Strong PC skills, specifically advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills and MS Projects Standard are required. Working knowledge of MS Project Professional a plus
? Implementation and administration of CA-Clarity and/or Planview Enterprise required
? Financial background or experience highly desired
? Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality
? Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
? Demonstrated experience working with all levels of management and staff
? Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines
? Must take initiative, be assertive, and be able to work with minimal supervision
? Attention to detail with the ability to see the ?big picture?
? Ability to prioritize, multi-task and handle competing deadlines


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
? 3 years experience in an administrative role supporting IT Project and Program managers is desired
? Bachelors Degree or equivalent
? PMI / PMP Certification is preferred
