I. Position Summary:
The Engineer is involved in SAP Basis activities which include: SAP application, Microsoft or Intel environment configuration and management including performance monitoring, tuning, capacity planning, application deployment and integration, design and process documentation, adhering to system and security integration standards, technical support including some rotational on-call duties 24 hours per day/7 days per week, preventive maintenance and server security. The Engineer is also responsible for driving or supporting architectural and operational excellence initiatives.
II. Essential Functions:
Responsible for the administration and support of the SAP Systems within JetBlue Airways Computing Infrastructure Services team
? Coordinates with the existing Infrastructure team to design architecture, complete sizing exercise on servers, setup servers, and establish environments (50%)
? Includes installation of SAP software, applying patches and support packs, system security, server sizing, connectivity and server maintenance (20%)
? Responsible for regular system monitoring, performance tuning, transport management, system builds, system refreshes, client copies and troubleshooting and analysis (15%)
? Provides technical expertise and leadership to ensure that conceptual integrity is maintained (10%)
? Other duties as assigned (5%)

Supervision Received:
? Plans and carries out work assignments; resolves most conflicts which arise; coordinates work with others as necessary; interprets policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives. Keeps Crewleader informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications
Supervisory Duties:
? No supervisory responsibility
IV. Minimum Qualifications:
? High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required; Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent preferred but not required
? Three (3) to five (5) years of SAP Basis experience in a large production environment
? Five (5) years experience building and administering Windows servers
? Five (5) years experience with Microsoft networking including TCP/IP
? Five (5) years experience with the hardware aspect of building Intel-Based servers
? Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification or equivalent preferred but not required
? Module experience should include Finance, Payroll, Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS), Materials Management (MM), Warehouse Management (WM), Employee Self Service (ESS)
? Performance tuning of SAP, capacity planning, and system architecture
? SQL Database Administration is preferred but not required
? Industry certifications and hands on experience in the following key area(s):
o Servers: HP
o Storage: EMC
o SAN: Brocade
o Backup Software: Veritas
? Regular attendance is required
? Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
? Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance
? Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
? Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
? When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
V. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
? Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of general and SAP specific security best practices
? Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot difficult problems, communicate progress, and escalate to subject matter experts when necessary
? Demonstrated architecture and design expertise with enterprise server and storage networking projects in support of SAP in large-scale environments
? Experience estimating effort and resources required for projects and working with Project Managers to structure projects
? Experience with MS-SQL databases and Active Directory
? Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (Microsoft technologies preferred but not required)
? Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision
? Ability to work effectively with all levels and in diverse environments
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
