We currently have a consulting opportunity for a Senior level Data Warehousing specialist that possesses a strong background in SQL Server 2000/2005.
The DW architect will assist our client in defining an approach to the design and development of a large Data Warehousing solution.
The ideal candidates experience will have prepared you to provide:
. Architectural Analysis
. Assess viability of architectural proof-of-concept
. Construct architectural proof-of-concept
. Describe the run-time architecture
. Develop design guidelines
. Develop programming guidelines

. Prioritize use cases
. Structure the implementation model
The DW architect will provide guidance, domain expertise, and leadership to our client's program manager and help him lead his teams through the following steps:
1. Confirm and refine stakeholder goals and objectives
2. Select or confirm a life cycle framework (TTM, Rational Unified Process, or other)
3. Define an appropriate organizational structure of teams covering all impacted areas
4. Confirm the scope
5. Redefine the requirements for the Reporting Systems (customer perspective)
6. Manage the collection of design artifacts defining the current system (requirements, business models, use cases, E-R diagrams, activity diagrams, logical and physical data models, schemas, deployment diagrams)
7. Refine current state, desired state design diagrams
8. Develop high level design
9. Create high level project plan
10. Estimate costs and benefits
11. Assess risks
12. Develop business case
13. Seek approval to proceed to the next step
Experience: * BS/MS degree
* 5+ years of experience in the creation of very large data warehouses
* 5+ years of experience supporting global initiatives
* 10+ years of overall experience in database development, administration, support and architecture.
* 5+ years of experience in Project Management
* 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 database technologies. Experience designing data warehouses of this scale, type, complexity, and technology
* Knowledge of how to orchestrate design, development, and operations teams to successfully tackle similar projects
