Prominent financial institution is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to join a Database Team at their Downtown Manhattan headquarters for an excellent full-time, permanent position that offers an excellent base salary, great benefits, a terrific work environment and the opportunity for advancement. In this role, you will: *Perform database installations, upgrades and configurations. *Set up backup and recovery procedures for the Group's databases. * Design, test and implement Oracle high availability solutions. *Perform maintenance, monitoring and tuning of the Group's databases. *Provide support in database design and application development. *Participate in configuration, installation, testing/evaluation, implementation, monitoring and administration of all of the Group's Sun systems including offsite contingency systems. *And other projects and duties as required. To be successful in this position, you MUST possess: *At least 2 years of relevant, steady experience working in IT in the FINANCIAL INDUSTRY. *3+ yrs experience as a Database Administrator with solid experience in Oracle 9i and 10g. *Strong knowledge of Oracle internals and procedural language (PL/SQL), 10g Grid Control, DataGuard, RAC, RMAN and Veritas NetBackup and Cluster Server. *3 yrs experience working in a medium or large Sun Solaris-based computing environment. *Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
