BASIC FUNCTION:As part of M&T’s Information Security division, the Security Staff Specialist would function as a trusted member of the Network Security Solutions team.RESPONSIBILITIES:The Security Staff Specialist would be responsible for installation, configuration and administration of security related hardware and software used to protect the banks assets. As a member of the security team, you will be required to work closely with other infrastructure support teams in the development and securitization of the banks systems. Additional responsibilities will include administration and support of vendor products to audit and secure the banks server operating systems. Develop policy and procedures to support these applications. Performs any required debugging. Evaluates and understands complex interrelationships and effects among programs, interfacing applications and platforms. Provides highly analytical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies to assist business units in meeting strategic objectives. Prepares thorough, clear technical specifications and functional specifications, and updates systems documentation. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree or above in a technical field of study or have at least 4+ years experience in a related technology area. 2+ years with UNIX/Linux2+ years with Window workstation and/or server operating systems (XP, Vista, Windows Server 2003)Working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.1-2 years Information Security ExperienceStrong written and verbal communication experience to be able to present to a target audienceIDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:Project Management/Project Lead experienceKnowledge of Networking the OSI model and TCP/IP protocolsServer build & configuration experienceSelf motivated candidates with a proven IT track record.
