PEROT SYSTEMS CORPORATION is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. It is currently looking for a Configuration Management Specialist to join our team in New York City, NY.
Job Responsibilities:
This is a senior level role, working autonomously on-site with a Perot customer. This role will be responsible for installing, maintaining and upgrading the Systems Management Server (SMS) infrastructure including site servers and clients. This includes distributing software, service packs & security updates to all Windows-based systems including third-party / in-house applications; deploying operating system images; managing the packaging, testing, certification, and deployment of worldwide applications. Duties will also include analyzing existing infrastructures and providing innovative solutions to improve our customer’s environment by evaluating new releases, patches, bug-fixes for SMS environment and plan, test and upgrade the infrastructure as required.
Required Skills:
Applicants must have a minimum of three years proven experience with the following:
Utilizing SMS 2003 for the administration of SMS, including the creation, testing, and deploying SMS packages when required to remedy third party software;
Managing SMS 2003 and troubleshooting experience with desktop and server operating systems including Windows 2000 Pro, Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 server and Windows 2003 server;
Understanding of Active Directory and Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM);
Providing backup support for security patch management using ITMU / custom packages to deploy Microsoft / other third party security updates to all Windows clients worldwide in conjunction with the Patch Management Administrator;
Understanding of Windows Installer application life cycle management, including prototype testing, 'locked down' environment provisioning, patching, upgrading, administrative installations packaging tools such as Installshield AdminStudio and/or Wise for Windows Installer;
Scripting experience with WSH, WMI, Batch, VBScript, or WinBatch or programming experience Visual Basic or Visual C++.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge and experience of Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) or Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) is a plus;
MCSE certifications (Win2K or Windows 2003) and experience with supporting HP desktop/laptop and server hardware;
Experience with Windows Vista is a big plus.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Systems, or related field.
