Robert Half Technology is currently recruiting for a part time SQL DBA for an established and thriving Non Profit agency in the Flatiron district of Manhattan. Our ideal candidate is open to long term part time work with more hours available up front.
The DBM is responsible for managing and enhancing our client's database of constituents, programmatic activities, donations, events and outreach. The DBM must be able to analyze data and constantly improve data policies and reporting tools to accommodate this organizations evolving needs, while maintaining a high level of quality control. The DBM will also be responsible for establishing training regimens and training staff. In addition, they are developing a new database-driven website, and the DBM manager will be responsible for working with staff and outsourced developers to develop systems and policies for synchronizing data between Raiser’s Edge database and the website.
Responsibilities include:
• Maintaining data integrity.
• Interfacing with database users to understand operational goals and requirements.
• Formulating queries, generating reports and lists.
• Developing, updating and documenting database usage policies and procedures.
• Training new and existing users.
• Monitoring the data entry practices of support staff and entering non-standard data when necessary.
• Providing Level 1 hardware and software technical support to staff and interfacing with outsourced office IT support vendor.
Requirements include:
• At least five years of experience working with relational databases.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Proficiency in reporting tools such as Crystal Reports
• Well-versed in Visual Basic or equivalent.
• Ability to deeply understand the organization’s programs and goals and to creatively use the database and reporting tools to help achieve those goals.
• Outstanding reliability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Proven track record of completing projects on time with exceptional results.
• Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge or other CRM software a plus.
