We are currently seeking a consultant to work 6-8 weeks on site in Ithaca, NY
Experience: Resource must have experience configuring the latest Generally Available HP Universal CMDB with Discovery and Dependency Mapping Advanced in a single environment.
The UCMDB will be used to discover up to two hundred (200) managed servers and their interdependencies. And up to one (1) end-user application will be modeled to demonstrate the host level dependency mapping.
Assist the Customer in deploying an uCMDB NetFlow discovery probe for up to forty (40) NetFlow agents.. Install the UCMDB server in a single environment with deployment of up to four (4) discovery probes in no more than three (3) security zones
. Work with Customer Network team to confirm the logistics and engineering effort to enable integration between uCMDB and NetFlow and the placement and configuration of NetFlow probe and agents . Install and configure one (1) uCMDB NetFlow discovery probe for up to forty (40) NetFlow agents
Discovery Experience Required:
The Consultant, along with Customer's security administrator and application subject matter experts (SME) will determine the out-of-box discovery patterns and necessary credentials to be used to discover the target domain, which includes consumption of NetFlow data streams on DDM probes..
. Conduct the foundation layer discovery workshop:
o Analyze the architecture of the target discovery environment
o Determine the appropriate discovery methodology and protocols
o Define and review discovery requirements
. Foundation discovery of up to two hundred (200) managed servers using out of the box discovery capabilities:
o Discover servers of supported platforms
o Identify switches based on SNMP OIDs
o Discover host level resources
o Discover host dependencies based on TCP connectivity
. Oracle database discovery within the discovery scope using out of the box discovery capabilities:
o Discover Oracle database resources of supported versions
o Discover Oracle client connections from active sessions
. Host to host dependencies using NetFlow data.
Modeling and Reporting Experience Required:
Creation of host level views and reporting will be done with the assistance of the Customer application SME's to determine the validity of the mapping model.
. Modeling of one (1) end-user application:
o Modeling will consist of the underlying CIs existing in the CMDB as the result of scope of discovery performed
o Create standard application views and reports for the modeled application:
o Create one (1) host dependency view based on the discovered host components
o Create one (1) host resources view
o Create Application CI association to the underlying Host CIs
o Create up to two (2) custom reports that show foundation layer discovery exceptions
o Provide ability to perform CI Comparison and Snapshot Comparison
o Provide ability to produce Gold Master, Asset, Dependency and Change Reports within the modeled application
