Responsible for:<br> <p>
• Administration of Microsoft SQL Servers <br> <p>
• Installing, configuring and tuning MS SQL Server<br> <p>
• Routine daily, weekly and monthly monitoring and maintenance of all database environments
<br> <p>• Ensuring database consistency and integrity
<br> <p>• Keeping database servers up to date and patched<br> <p>
• Coordinate migration of data and database objects between environments<br> <p>
• Backup strategy for all databases including data redundancy and procedures for disaster recovery<br> <p>
• Troubleshooting performance issues (Website and In-house applications)<br> <p>
• Documenting database system architecture (Hardware, configuration, etc)<br> <p>
• Assist in planning and implementing high quality environments<br> <p>
• Assist in planning and implementing push procedures and policies
<br> <p>• Developing long-term goals for database servers
• Scaling SQL Server for future growth (including Load Balancing, Clustering, and replication)<br> <p>
• Making recommendations on new database technologies, standards and procedures to support development efforts
<br> <p>• Mentoring jr. Database Administrator<br> <p>
• Ad-hoc SQL requests including reports
<br> <p>
Required Experience:<br> <p>
• 5+ years administering production SQL Server database servers (SQL Server 2000 and above) <br> <p>
• 5+ years Windows Server experience
<br> <p>• 3+ years optimizing and tuning<br> <p>
• 3+ years installing and configuration SQL Server databases<br> <p>
• 5+ years T-SQL
<br> <p>• 3+ years Database Architecture<br> <p>
• 2+ years testing disaster recovery plans
<br> <p>• Familiarity with SQL 2005<br> <p>
• Troubleshooting issues with SQL Server 2000 and 2005
<br> <p>• Worked with multiple database environments for development, quality assurance and production<br> <p>
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
<br> <p>• Good communication skills (verbal and written)<br> <p>
Additional Desired Experience:<br> <p>
• Familiarity with replication and clustering<br> <p>
• Administration of high traffic websites<br> <p>
• Reporting systems (SSIS, Analysis Services, etc)
<br> <p>• Data warehousing background
<br> <p>• Familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Share Point<br> <p>
