SDET
Experience: We are looking for more of a core tester (not a SDE) but will spend 50% of day coding in C#. There are no specific test tools needed (as they are all proprietary to MSFT) but experience with Sharepoint and Exchange would be helpful. The two open positions will be backfilling current CSGs (ending next week and end of April). Looking to fill one asap and second position in a few weeks as not to have too much overlap time. The Forefront Sustained Engineering team is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test who will be actively involved in delivering rollups, service packs, and hotfixes to our customers when issues arise in the field. Forefront Server focuses on security products for application servers, so joining our team would allow you to participate in one of the fastest growing areas of Microsoft, Security. Our products provide protection for Exchange, SharePoint and LiveCommunication Server/Office Communication Server. This protection includes anti-virus, anti-spam, content filtering, file filtering and much more. As a contingent staff member of the team, you will be expected to not only work within our existing framework, but to help improve the automation coverage from customer driven scenarios. On a day to day basis you would be expected to design and develop test automation, drive testability requirements, review development specifications, interact with development and program management, review crash dumps, participate in code reviews, perform black box and white box analysis, increase code coverage, identify bug trends and much more. The ideal candidate must have a proven ability to deliver results. Qualifications should include 2+ years of software development (or test automation development) experience in C# and/or C++, a strong passion for raising the quality bar, good planning and organizational skills and excellent cross-group/project and cross-discipline communications. Formal test experience is strongly preferred. BA/BS degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related technical field preferred. Analyzes designs and develops overall test plans, performs repeatable testing procedures and processes. Verifies installation instructions, APIs, triggers, stored procedures, referential integrity, hardware product or system specifications. Interprets and modifies code as required including C#, C/C++ batch files, Perl scripts, JScripts, SQL queries, stored procedures and/or triggers. Identifies and defines project team quality and risk metrics. Provides assistance to other testers. Application/System/Inter-System level issues will be the major focus in addition to designing and developing robust automated test harnesses. The job scope includes application/system performance, threading issues, bottleneck identification, writing small footprint and less intrusive code for critical code testing, tackle system/application intermitted failures, etc. Requires enterprise level configuration skills.
