Experience: Provide 24x7 support for a large scale mainframe storage environment. Activities include all aspects of space management, backup & recovery management, perform disk and tape problem resolution, provide support to production application and project demands in an environment that is based on IBM SMS/HSM/ABARS and DMS toolsets, IBM DS8000 disk, IBM VTS tape libraries and IBM Global Mirror (PPRC) for replication.
SKILLS
3+ years of experience in mainframe storage management, including detailed technical knowledge of mainframe storage infrastructure components (IBM). Experience in all aspects of mainframe disk and tape management, including storage provisioning, backup processing, reporting and configuration management. Specific knowledge of IBM hardware / software preferred. Excellent analytical skills required. Must be able to work independently and within a team of highly skills technical professionals.
EDUCATION
Four year degree or equivalent work experience in IT with a focus on infrastructure technologies.
